Moodsonic soundscaping

Moodsonic soundscaping across Asia-Pacific

Adaptive, nature-derived soundscapes shaped around how people use a space: working, collaborating, taking a break or arriving somewhere new.

Valeo Technology represents Moodsonic across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong. We support projects throughout Asia-Pacific, with delivered work including Bangkok and Taipei.

We work alongside clients, consultants, designers and installers to develop the soundscaping approach and integrate it into the wider project.

The experience

Different spaces call for different sound

Moodsonic generates evolving soundscapes from layers of nature-derived audio. The sound responds to changing conditions, with control over individual zones and schedules throughout the day.

We start with the activities in each space, then design the soundscape, speaker coverage and transitions between areas.

Focused work

Soundscapes designed to make surrounding speech less distracting and support a comfortable working environment.

Collaboration

A soundscape suited to conversation and shared activity, coordinated with neighbouring areas used for concentration.

Restoration

Gentle soundscapes for places where people pause, reset or step away from a busy environment.

Arrival

A distinctive welcome, with the option of bespoke content connected to the place.

Soundscaping and masking

A different background, for a different experience

Both approaches can raise background sound and support speech privacy. The difference is what people hear while they work.

Conventional sound masking. A commissioned spectrum whose material stays fixed. The level may adapt by zone.
Adaptive soundscaping. Nature-derived content that evolves without a repeating loop and responds to the conditions in each zone. The drawing is live; watch it for a moment and it does not return to the same place.

Both belong inside the wider acoustic strategy. Soundscaping complements acoustic treatment, isolation and layout; it does not replace them.

Experience Moodsonic

Hear how it could feel

The best introduction to soundscaping is to hear it. Book an online demonstration or arrange an in-person listening visit, available in most regions we cover.

We can explore the types of spaces you have in mind, demonstrate different soundscapes and show how the system is controlled.

Control and insights

Manage the sound. Understand the space.

Moodsonic Control, adaptive sensing and Insights are included in the systems we deliver. Together, they let your team manage the soundscapes and understand acoustic conditions across the installation.

Control

Choose soundscapes, adjust levels and set schedules for individual zones through a central interface. Settings can be updated as the way you use the space changes.

Control. The floor and its zones on the left, the selected zone's soundscape and level in the centre, and its schedule for the day on the right.

Adaptive sensing

The system responds to changing acoustic conditions, adjusting the soundscape as activity changes. Valeo Technology configures and tests that response as part of commissioning.

Insights

View sound levels, frequency information and trends across zones. These insights help your team understand the acoustic environment and identify where settings may need review.

The sensors analyse acoustic conditions; they do not record conversations.

Moodsonic Insights: sound levels by zone on a floor plan, with one zone's trend over the week
Insights. Sound levels by zone in dBA, one zone's week against the floor average, and the frequency profile behind the reading.

Designed and delivered with your team

Specialist support from planning to operation

Valeo Technology develops the soundscaping proposal and coordinates its requirements with the people responsible for the wider project.

01

Design and specification

We review the floor plan and intended activities, define the zones and recommend compatible equipment. We work with your consultants and designers to incorporate the soundscaping requirements into the project documentation.

02

Installation coordination

We coordinate the system requirements with the appointed installer, who carries out the installation.

03

Testing and commissioning

Valeo Technology tests and commissions the system, tuning the soundscapes, levels and adaptive settings to the finished space.

04

Training and ongoing support

We train your team to use the system and provide ongoing support after handover.

Connected to place

A soundscape with a local identity

Alongside Moodsonic’s soundscape library, Valeo Technology can arrange bespoke content for a particular project.

At Medibank Wollongong, the arrival soundscape was co-created with Dharawal Elders using sounds of the Illawarra. It brings a connection to place into the experience of entering the workplace.

The research

Explore the evidence behind soundscaping

Our Evidence page brings together independent research, industry reporting and project findings, with the source and limitations identified for each.

How the soundscapes are created

Each soundscape is constructed from many small sound elements, individual bird calls, water textures and subtle environmental sounds, each with its own gain, density, probability and timing, so the result stays dynamic and never repeats. It is generated on the on-premise hub rather than streamed from a playlist, so there is no loop length. Speaker placement, zone configuration and the soundscape parameters for each zone are planned from your floor plan, and that planning becomes the Valeo Technology design package your team reviews.

When a bespoke theme is required, Valeo Technology works with Moodsonic’s acoustic engineering team to design content specific to the client’s needs.
